WHY A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

 

The objective in building a private Christian school is to obey Scriptural imperatives of Deuteronomy 6:5-7a,

“…love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…”

 

And of Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go…” Teaching is training. Training for life must include training for eternity. A Christian school is an extension of the Christian home in training young people in a Christian environment for time and eternity. 

 

HISTORY

 

Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy, a ministry of Bible Baptist Church, began in August 1996 as a result of a burden God laid upon the heart of Pastor Larry Obero.  After much time in prayer before the Lord, Pastor Obero brought the vision before the church as an alternative to the humanistic-based philosophy being taught in public schools throughout our state and nation.  The Lord brought Brother Abelardo and Sister Delia Herrera to Bible Baptist Church to help Pastor Obero fulfill this vision.  The school opened in August 1, 1996 with a total enrollment of 60 students in grades K5 through 12th grade.  Today the school has 122 Alumni with some currently attending Bible Colleges, serving in the military, and some serving either full time or part time in the ministry. Mr. Ireneo Austria has served as the principal since August 1, 2002. Mrs. Sally Quimba serves as an assistant to the Principal in the areas of evaluation, curriculum, and other administration

        

  “Ambassadors” was chosen as the representative symbol of Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy because it represents the heart of the school according to Proverbs 13:17.    The Ambassador is prevalent in Scripture, and many biblical principles may be learned from.  The Ambassador has a tremendous reputation throughout the history of mankind.  It is a befitting image as Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy trains students to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.

 

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

        

The purpose of Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy (FABBA) is to provide a sound academic education combined with a Biblical view of God and the world.  Knowledge is factually the same for both the Christian and non-Christian.  However, no subject can be taught in the totality of truth if the Creator of our Universe is denied.

 

 The Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights…” Knowledge is purified by the recognition of God’s place in it.  Only as we approach education from God’s point of view, as revealed to us through the Scriptures, will we honor Him.  Jesus said, “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life…” (John 14:6).

 

Furthermore, it is our purpose to help Christian parents/guardians fulfill their legal and spiritual responsibility to train their children.  Both the Word of God and the laws of the State of California are clear in making parents/guardians responsible for the education of their children.

 

STATEMENT OF FAITH

 

Doctrinal Statement

 

Without apology, Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy holds to the Statement of Faith of the Bible Baptist Church of National City, California. 

 

  1. We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired Word of God, without error, and the final rule of faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:19,21). For all intents and purposes, the authorized King James Bible will be used.

  2. We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead, one God eternally      existing in three persons: the     Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; I John 5:7; II Corinthians 13:14).

  3. We believe in the absolute deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1); in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:18); His perfect humanity (John 1:14); His vicarious death through the shedding of His blood for the remission of sins (II Corinthians 5:21); Colossians 1:14); His bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and Advocate; in “that blessed hope”; the personal imminent pre-tribulation, pre-millennial coming of our Lord in the air for His Saints (Revelation 1:7). We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, equal with the Father and Son and of the same: conviction of sin, regeneration of sinners, and indwelling of the believer (John 14:16; 16:8-11; Romans 8:16; Ephesians 1:13; I John 4:13)

  4. We believe in the distinct person of Satan, that he is Lucifer the fallen angel, Prince and Power of darkness, and is destined to eternal judgment in the Lake of Fire (Matthew 4:1-3; I Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10; Matthew 25:41; Isaiah 14:12-14).

  5. We believe every individual must repent of his sin and be born again to enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:7). Salvation is by God’s grace and not of works (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; Titus 3:5). We believe in the eternal security of the believer (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:28-29; Philippians 1:6; I John 5:13).

 

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God; he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which separates us from God. All human beings are born with a human, sinful nature and are totally depraved (Romans 3:23; Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 53:6; Psalms 51:5) and are in need of salvation from condemnation (John 3:18-19).

  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost (Revelation 20:12-15).

  • We believe in the church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and which all regenerated people are members. We believe that a local church is a congregation of born-again believers. Its purpose and practices are described in God’s Word. It has absolute right of self-government directed by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:41-42; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23).

  • We believe that there are two church ordinances: Baptism and Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of the believer, who has been examined by the Pastor or Deacons, and is properly called “Believers Baptism” (Romans 6:3-5). The Lord’s Supper is for the believer only and is the commemoration of our Lord’s death “till He come” (I Corinthians 11:23-32).

 

Here is the motivation for many of the guidelines and rules in this handbook.

Standards of modesty and standards of separation from the worldly styles AND influences provide tools for preventing the slipping of a fellow believer’s spiritual walk.  The individual rights of the believer were crucified with his sins on the cross of Christ.  “For ye are bought with a price:  therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”  (I Corinthians 6:20)  The only solution to this command is to be holy – the key to being an “Ambassador” in the Christian walk.  By God’s grace we have the opportunity to live victoriously just as Paul did in the world without being influenced by it (II Corinthians 1:12).

 

BIBLE

 

Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy considers the study of God’s Word to be of fundamental importance.  We believe Bible is the most important course in our school.  The Bible displays God’s plan for salvation and daily living while augmenting the study of English, History, Geography, Mathematics, and Science.  Without a thorough knowledge of biblical truth, a student cannot be considered properly educated.  No other book can so enrich the minds and hearts of young people as the Bible.

Character development is the most important task of our school.  No other course can so mold and aid the work of the Holy Spirit as Bible.  Thus, because of the importance Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy places on the study of the Bible, a student who fails a semester of Bible will be ineligible for extracurricular activities such as music ensembles, fine arts, etc.  In addition, students who fail Bible for two consecutive semesters will not be permitted to return to the school the following semester.

 

 

STANDARD OF CONDUCT

 

Students must conduct themselves in an exemplary manner at all times. Students are expected to refrain from DISCUSSING and ENGAGING in: cheating, swearing, smoking, gambling, listening to rock music, dancing, drinking alcoholic beverages, sexual intimacy, and using illegal drugs, or any other activities that are not in harmony with Christian conduct. Participation by students, on or off campus, in such activities is a cause for suspension or expulsion. Students are expected to act in an orderly and respectful manner, maintaining Christian standards in courtesy, kindness, language, morality and honesty. 

Regular church attendance is expected and required from all students and to act in an orderly and respectful manner, maintaining Christian character. They are expected to strive toward unquestionable character in dress, conduct, and attitude in all occasion.
